A Brief History of St. Michael's Long History

"Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself."- Ephesians 2:20

"St. Michael's Redeeming Spiritual Church was founded November 7, 1948 at 3:00 p.m when all Redeeming Faith marched in under St. Michael's Redeeming Spiritual Church's banner singing "Highway To Heaven." "

Founded in 1948 by Rev. Emma D. Hudson and Rev Herman J. Mitchell.

Rev Hudson served as our first pastor from 1948 until 1962.

Upon her illness Reverend Mitchell became pastor, a position he held for 35 years from 1962-1997, rising in the Lord to become a pillar of the Spiritualist church community.

After Bishop Mitchell made his transition in 1997 and after a two year period in which longtime Deacon James Stinson served as pastor Rev. Robert Cornwell was installed and led us from 1999-2002.

In 2008, after a period of tribulation and testing by the Lord, Rev. Latricia T. Mitchell became our Pastor in 2008.

In 2013 St. Michael's Redeeming Spiritual Church celebrated its 65th Anniversary having been through some downs but many more ups all through the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ. And through his grace and mercy, and by clinging to his Word, Lord willing we will continue to praise him for another sixty five plus sixty five years!

St. Michael's Redeeming Spiritual Church is a member of United Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc and the United Spiritualist Church Association.
